The Batman has a confirmed date for streaming in Ireland

This is when you can watch 2022’s best comic book movie at home.

Released in cinemas in March of 2022, all eyes were on The Batman.

Following on from two vastly different interpretations of the role, from Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale in the Dark Knight Trilogy, to Zack Snyder and Ben Affleck in the Justice League movies, it would be very interesting to see how the latest adaptation would fare.

The trailers revealed something much darker, much moodier, much more grown-up.

The director made a name for himself with clever, cerebral blockbusters like Cloverfield and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

The cast was seemingly extremely eclectic, from Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, to Colin Farrell as The Penguin, to Paul Dano as The Riddler, and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman.

The inspiration was as much from serial killer thrillers like Se7en as it was from the actual comic books that Batman originated from. How would it all pan out?

It turns out, there was absolutely no need for any concerns.

The movie banked a juicy $770 million at the global box office, and critics really enjoyed it, dishing out 85% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Already there is talk of sequels, as well as spin-off TV shows in the works. And chances are that there are some big hints to all of them already hidden within this first movie.

And now is your chance to scour the scenes to uncover them. Or if you happened to see the movie when it was in cinemas, you should definitely check it out again before you start putting together your personal Best Of 2022 Movies lists!

The Batman will be available to stream from the comfort of your couch with a NOW Cinema Membership from Friday, 2 December.
