Robert Pattinson’s Batman suit may have revealed the dark direction the movie will take

Time to get excited over every single tiny detail!

It has only been a few hours since director Matt Reeves revealed the Batsuit test footage, featuring the well-chined Robert Pattinson in his full Caped Crusader glory, and already eagle-eyed fans think they might have spotted something massively interesting.

Even though the footage lasts for less than a minute, and isn’t massively well-lit, some folk are convinced that Pattinson’s Batsuit points towards the kind of Dark Knight we’re going to be getting.

Hint: it is darker than what we’ve got before. We’ll show the footage again here, so read no further if you want to go in with little-to-no info.

Still here?

Alright, on we go.

Around the 22-second mark, when the Bat-symbol is at its most easy-to-see, some Bat-fans are convinced that the metal chest plate is made out of a disassembled gun.

And not just any disassembled gun, but Joe Chill’s gun. The gun that was used to kill Thomas and Martha Wayne.

If that is the case, then it would certainly lends itself to The Batman being a lot darker and grittier than, say, the version we got in Batman V Superman (sorry Ben Affleck! You tried your best!)

We’ve still got well over a year to know if that is the case, or if it is just us fans reading too much into something potentially awesome.

On top of Robert Pattison as Bruce Wayne, we’ve also got Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred.

They’ll all be hitting the big screen together when The Batman flies into cinemas on 25 June 2021.
