Benicio Del Toro reveals more info about The Last Jedi’s most mysterious character

Rory Cashin

“He’s put there by destiny… or the Force…”

Oscar-winner Benicio Del Toro is usually the most interesting part of whatever movie he’s a part of – just look at his bonkers Collector character in Guardians Of The Galaxy – and the same goes for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

His stuttering master-hacker arrives out of nowhere on the Monte Carlo-esque casino planet, and the character of DJ plays a major part in how the remainder of the plot plays out for several of the major characters.

We got to sit down with the living legend to talk more about the very mysterious character, but we also discussed his favourite sounds within the Star Wars universe, what it is like to get the call to say you’re being added to the franchise, and how he feels about missing out on filming some of his scenes in Ireland.

Check out our chats in below.

In case you missed it, here are our chats with The Last Jedi villains played by Andy Serkis and Domhnall Gleeson, their lead hench-person Captain Phasma (played by Game Of Thrones’ Gwendoline Christie), as well as the hero of the hour, played by Daisy Ridley.

We were also lucky enough to sit down with the movie’s writer and director Rian Johnson.

And, while we know there is no way that you’ve missed this, here is the trailer for The Last Jedi, which is playing in Irish cinemas right now.
