Movies on TV

Lads, Ace Ventura and Coming to America are on…back-to-back.

Movies, Games and Videos, does anyone else remember that TV show?

If you do, we’re pitching our own remake of it and it’s going to be called Movies, Movies, Movies.

Granted, that’s not the most original title but it’s perfectly apt to describe all of the movies that are on today.

On that note, take a look at what’s on TV tonight.

Godzilla – 18:40 on ITV2

It’s grand but nothing could ever live up to the halo drop scene that we saw in the trailer.

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective – 19:15 on Comedy Central

“I’m looking for Ray Finkle…and a clean pair of shorts” A classic.

The Huntsman: Winter’s War – 20:00 on Channel 4

Hemsworth, Theron, Blunt, Chastain. With that level of talent, it should have been much better.

Coming to America – 21:00 on Comedy Central

With the sequel on the way, there’s no better time than now to get reacquainted with Zamundan royalty.

FYI, Randy Watson is still one of the greatest characters of all time.

Batman Begins – 21:00 on Sky 1

Bruce Wayne’s parents die, he becomes a man-bat to avenge them. It’s great.

The World’s End – 21:00 on ITV2

Not quite as good as Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz but you know, still enjoyable.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part Two – 21:00 on E4

A Twilight film.

The Wolf of Wall Street – 21:30 on RTÉ2

DiCaprio does shitload of drugs and acts like a dickhead. Just like most people on Wall Street then.

Ransom – 22:05 on Virgin Media 2

Mel Gibson in Taken without the extreme violence, Liam Neeson, famous phone call, easter European terrorists, missing daughter, or anything really to do with Taken…aside from the fact that his son gets taken.

A grand thriller.

Why Him? – 22:10 on Channel 4

Bryan Cranston learns to hate James Franco’s character after learning that this his Silicon Valley tech bro is about to pop the question.

Riddick – 22:50 on Film4

Left for dead on a sun-scorched planet, Riddick finds himself up against an alien race of predators. Activating an emergency beacon alerts two ships: one carrying a new breed of mercenary, the other captained by a man from Riddick’s past.

Sahara – 00:25 on Channel 4

It’s just alright, alright, alright.

Sinister – 01:10 on Film4

Good scares, good demon, good story. Good stuff.

The Gift – 01:25 on RTÉ1

Extremely good thriller about a young married couple whose lives are thrown into a harrowing tailspin when an acquaintance from the husband’s past brings mysterious gifts and a horrifying secret to light after more than 20 years.
