movies on TV sunday

It’s Sunday.

And what a Sunday it is.

Do you know the best way to spend a Sunday evening? It’s watching a movie. That’s scientifically proven (don’t look that up).

Here’s what tonight has to offer:

Edward Scissorhands – 6.55pm – E4

Johnny Depp stars in this Tim Burton fantasy flick about a reclusive genius who invents a boy, but dies before the creation is complete. Depp at his best.

Yes Man – 8pm – ITV2

Jim Carrey plays a depressed and anti-social man who decides to change his life by answering positively to everything he is asked. He quickly finds out this isn’t the best idea.

The Inbetweeners Movie – 9pm – E4

People had their doubts when they heard that such a classic TV show was getting a movie, but The Inbetweeners delivered and then some. A hilarious film that every person of a certain age should have seen by now.

Dumb and Dumber – 9pm – Comedy Central

More Jim Carrey madness, this time in a much more bizarre setting. Silly comedy that will probably make you chuckle.

Avengers: Age of Ultron – 9.35pm – RTÉ2

A brilliant superhero movie that was pivotal in pushing the MCU in the direction that resulted in extraordinary success. James Spader puts in a masterful performance.

The Fault in Our Stars – 10.55pm – Channel4

A beautiful love story about a teenager who is diagnosed with terminal cancer, based on the bestselling novel of the same name. Definitely worth a watch, though you may enter the new week in tears…

Lincoln – 11.35pm – Film4

A brilliant biopic about one of the greatest presidents in American history, with the incredible Daniel-Day Lewis in the main role.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
