While your Bank Holiday Monday may have been a washout, there is plenty of films airing on television tonight to entertain you.

Deadpool 2 – Film Four – 9pm

Ryan Reynolds’ merc with a mouth returns in this decent sequel, elevated by new franchise arrivals Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz.

The Other Guys – Comedy Central – 9pm

Mark Wahlberg and Will Farrell play a bickering odd couple in this very funny parody of buddy cop films from the director of Anchorman and Step Brothers.

The Italian Job – Sky One – 9pm

Mark Wahlberg (again), Charlize Theron and Jason Statham lead the cast in this slick American remake of the Michael Caine starring classic.

First Blood – ITV 4 – 9pm

The first film to feature Sylvester Stallone’s iconic character John Rambo and also the best.

Invictus – TG4 – 9.30pm

Telling the true story of how Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) and the captain of South Africa’s rugby team Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon) joined forces to help unite their country, Clint Eastwood directs.

The Delinquent Season – RTÉ One – 9.30pm

Two married couples with kids start having problems with fidelity in this underrated Irish drama starring Cillian Murphy.

The Disappearance of Alice Creed – Horror Channel – 10.55pm

In this gripping thriller, a kidnapped woman (Gemma Arterton) is held captive in an abandoned apartment by two former convicts (one of whom is played by Line of Duty’s Martin Compston) who are seeking a ransom from her wealthy father.
