Tuesday.

In case you didn’t hear, it’s actually going to be a while yet before Tayto Park can reopen. Console yourself with some movies.

Man On Wire – Sky Documentaries – 9pm

A tense documentary about Philippe Petit, the tightrope walker who attempted a 45-minute walk between both buildings of the World Trade Centre in 1974. Also features recreations of his heartstopping walks at Notre Dame Cathedral and Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Gascoigne – Sky Documentaries – 10.50pm

Documentary about one of football’s most tragic, most talented practitioners. Covers World Cup drama, his battles with addiction and his glittering ability on the pitch – featuring input from the likes of Jose Mourinho and ex-teammate Gary Lineker.

Waterworld – ITV4 – 11pm

In the future, environmental disasters have left the planet flooded. A web-footed mutant mariner helps a woman and an orphan girl search for a mythical haven of dry land, with the help of a map tattooed on the child’s back – but in the process has to fend off a villainous crew of nicotine-addicted pirates. Really hope the real world doesn’t go this way.

The Wedding Singer – Comedy Central – 9pm

Adam Sandler stars in this rom-com where he is a failed rockstar pursuing Drew Barrymore. Excellent soundtrack.

Resident Evil: Retribution – Horror Channel – 10.55pm

Zombie fighter Alice finds herself trapped in a top-secret underground base as a virus sweeps the world, turning the human race into the undead. She battles through the complex in search of those responsible for the outbreak and faces an old friend, now under the control of her enemies. More realistic than it used to be.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
