Movies on TV

The Fugitive for the 100th time since lockdown?

Don’t mind if we do.

The weekend is fast approaching, you’re probably already on the couch, let us save you the trouble of going anywhere else to see what’s on TV tonight. We’ve got the best movies right here.

The Fugitive – ITV4 – 9pm

Yes it’s on every night but goddamn if it’s not a great movie.

50 First Dates – Comedy Central – 9pm

Sweet little romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, who plays a woman with short-term memory loss. One of the more cheerful romance films about amnesia.

The Grudge 2 – Syfy – 10pm

Described by many critics as “the sequel to The Grudge.”

Touching The Void – Channel 4 – 10pm

Docudrama about one of the most daring mountain-climbs in history, described by The Guardian as “the most successful documentary in British cinema history.” Very tense stuff.

Meeting Gorbachev – Sky Documentaries – 10.15pm

Who wouldn’t want to meet Gorbachev? The guy oversaw glasnost! Also, the interviewer is Werner Herzog. Well… you’ll probably learn something.

Mad Max – ITV4 – 11.30pm

Mel Gibson as a cop in a lawless post-apocalyptic Australia, out to avenge the murder of his wife and son at the hands of a biker gang. Frantic, but quality.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
