The weather is beautiful out there…

But there’s still some serious limits on what we can actually do with it. Thankfully, as the sun sets this evening, there will be plenty to keep you entertained on the box.

Here are the best movies on TV tonight.

Jackie – RTÉ2 – 9.45pm

Natalie Portman stars as Jackie Kennedy, unravelling in the aftermath of her husband’s assassination. A note-perfect performance.

Air Force One – Channel 5 – 10pm

Harrison Ford in his BEST role! Wait, SECOND-best role. Wait… Harrison Ford in one of his good roles. Terrorists take Air Force One and Harrison Ford is the badass President who needs to rescue everyone onboard.

The Next Three Days – Virgin Media One – 10pm

Elizabeth Banks is sent to prison for maybe committing murder, so her husband Russell Crowe tries to bail her out. Liam Neeson is also there.

8 Mile – ITV4 – 10pm

Eminem plays an approximation of himself growing up in Detroit and trying to win some respect on the battle rap scene. Good to watch if you’ve been struggling to come up with disses lately.

Kinky Boots – BBC One NI – 11.10pm

It’s real crazy to think that Chiwetel Ejiofor went from this and a bit part in Love Actually to Solomon Northup in 12 Years a Slave. This is a movie to switch your brain off to.

Some Mother’s Son – RTÉ One – 11.35pm

A teacher in 1980s Northern Ireland has the conflict brought home to her when her son is arrested as a member of the IRA. Through her friendship with the mother of another prisoner, her sympathy for the IRA’s agenda grows, although she struggles to condone their use of violence. However, her new allegiances are tested when her son joins the hunger strike led by Bobby Sands. Starring Helen Mirren, Aidan Gillen, Fionnula Flanagan and John Lynch.
