Movies on TV

It’s Tuesday.

Choo Choo Tuesday.

With the days rather blending together without distinction for basically the last 12 months, we feel it’s important to regularly remind ourselves of the day.

On this fine Tuesday – if it really is Tuesday – there is not much to do this evening other than to kick back and enjoy something on the TV.

We can definitely help you out here with our various, different, intelligent, cromulent and above all else, loquacious film picks.

But if you’re set in your ways and simply want to watch whatever is presented to you by the TV gods this evening, here are the best movies on TV.

X-Men: Days of Future Past – Film4 – 6.20pm

One of the best entries into the X-Men franchise which involves all the big hitters from Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen to Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence.

RoboCop 2 – ITV4 – 9pm

The creators were torn between making a police action or sci-fi action film so they compromised and made a film series about a robot who is also a cop.

The Post – Film4 – 9pm

Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Sarah Paulson and Bob Odenkirk star in this brilliant film which recounts what went on in the Washington Post before, during and after the Pentagon Papers saga.

The Thomas Crowne Affair – Channel 5 – 11pm

This remake of the 1968 classic showcases Pierce Brosnan as a man who would rather steal works of art than buy them.

Jaws: The Revenge – ITV4 – 11.20pm

A shark gets very angry that a police chief murdered her sharky friend in cold blood in the first movie.

The shark, in a dramatic display of sentience, has a vendetta against the Brody family.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
