The best thriller series you’ve all been sleeping on is returning to screens soon

Stephen Porzio

Its first season premiered earlier this year to rave reviews.

Apple TV+ has unveiled a trailer for the second season of Slow Horses, its critically acclaimed spy thriller series that more people should be watching

Based on a series of novels by British writer Mick Herron, the darkly comic and tense show centers around Slough House – an MI5 dumping ground department filled by agents who made career-ending mistakes.

The department is run by the miserable, slovenly but intelligent veteran agent Jackson Lamb (the Oscar-winning Gary Oldman).

The show’s debut season, which premiered in April, saw up-and-coming MI5 agent River Cartwright (Jack Lowden) demoted to Slough House before he and his fellow reject agents (who are referred to as “Slow Horses”) became entangled in a mystery.

Also featuring amongst its cast Freddie Fox, Jonathan Pryce, Kristin Scott Thomas, Olivia Cooke and Sophie Okonedo, the series’ first six episodes earned a 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes and even made it onto JOE’s mid-year Best TV of 2022 list.

As such, expectations are high for its second season which will see the Slow Horses investigate a new case involving the suspicious death of an ex-agent.

It will premiere on Apple TV+ on 2 December. You can check out its trailer below.
