Two seasons of epic Western show finally added to streaming

Holding an 86% Rotten Tomatoes score, the Western series has a strong Irish connection.

Accessible via the RTÉ Player, the show sees rising star Tom Blyth (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) play the titular real-life infamous outlaw.

The Western follows Billy the Kid, also known as Henry McCarty and William H. Bonney, "from his humble Irish roots, to his early days as a cowboy and gunslinger in the American frontier, to his pivotal role in the Lincoln County War and beyond".

On top of this, the series stars Daniel Webber (11.22.63) as Jesse Evans, another notorious outlaw whose wild and reckless ways appeal to Billy.

Having premiered in 2022, Billy the Kid earned mixed reviews from critics but seems to be well-liked by audiences.

It holds a high 86% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and a respectable 7.3 IMDb score.

The show was also renewed for a third and final season, which premiered last September in the UK and the US. It has not, however, been released in Ireland yet.

How to watch Billy the Kid in Ireland

Until recently, only the second season of Billy the Kid was available to watch on the RTÉ Player.

The Irish streaming service, however, has since gone ahead and added the first season of Western as well.

There has been no update on when the third and final season of the series will drop on the streamer.
