Netflix has announced that a spin-off to their post-apocalyptic horror thriller film Bird Box will be hitting the streaming service.
Based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Josh Malerman, the original Bird Box told the story of a woman (played by Sandra Bullock) and two children who must trek through a haunted forest and river whilst blindfolded in order to avoid the supernatural perils within.
While garnering mixed-to-mostly positive reviews from critics, the movie was a massive hit for the streamer - being watched by over 45 million Netflix account holders in just the first seven days of its release, as well as inspiring a whole host of memes.
Now, the streaming service is set to return to the world of the movie with an as-of-yet untitled Spanish spin-off.
The film will start production towards the end of this year in Spain, with brother directing duo Àlex Pastor and David Pastor at the helm.
The pair are best known for directing 2009's Carriers, another post-apocalyptic flick, which starred Chris Pine.
They also created the psychological thriller series The Head, which was released last month in Ireland on Starzplay.
No cast has been announced as of yet though the original film's director Susanne Bier will produce alongside Fast & Furious writer Chris Morgan.
