Black Widow is the latest blockbuster to be moved over coronavirus pandemic

A familiar pattern is emerging in the entertainment industry...

In just the past week alone, we've seen huge entertainment properties since as Fast and Furious 9, A Quiet Place Part II, Peaky Blinders, Line of Duty and UEFA EURO 2020 all forced to reschedule their originally set dates as the Covid-19 outbreak intensifies. But hey, at least WrestleMania 36 is still going ahead. Sort of, anyway. Another day, another cancellation as Marvel Studios' upcoming Black Widow has officially been pushed back over coronavirus-related concerns. As with A Quiet Place Part II, no new release date has been issued as of yet. Black Widow was originally scheduled to open in Irish cinemas on Friday 1 May. Many cinema chains have temporarily closed their doors as new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus are confirmed on the island of Ireland on a daily basis. Omniplex Cinemas, the Light House Cinema in Dublin and Pálás Cinema in Galway, the Irish Film Institute and many more have closed in a bid to protect public health with the intention of re-opening at the end of March, should it be safe to do so.
