#TRAILERCHEST: Booksmart is being called “the best comedy of its kind since Superbad”

100% on Rotten Tomatoes doesn’t come along very often!

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Booksmart.

Plot’s it all about?

Two best friends realise they’ve spent all of their high school years leaning hard into studying and getting good grades, but at the expense of having too much fun or making memories before things get serious again in college.

So they decide that they want to have one big night of craziness before school breaks for good, if for no good reason other than letting all of the other students know that they CAN BE FUN! However, it doesn’t take too long for things to go off the rails…

Directed by first-timer Olivia Wilde (who you might best know from acting in the likes of Tron: Legacy or House), it does have a very Superbad vibe to it, but with the leads being smart enough to know that what they’re doing is wrong… and they’re going to do it anyway.

The early reviews have been incredible – a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, with some reviews calling it one of ‘the most perfect coming-of-age comedies’ ever made – so we’re expecting big laughs.

Starring: Kaitlyn Dever, Beanie Feldstein, Jessica Williams, Lisa Kudrow, Will Forte and Jason Sudeikis

Directed by: Olivia Wilde

Irish release date: 27 May

Enjoy!
