A top-secret Breaking Bad movie is about to begin filming

We’ve also got the title of the very secretive project.

Fans have been hoping this day would come, although we probably all figured it never would.

Once Breaking Bad had finished, and the focus went on to Better Call Saul (which also must be coming to an end soon, right?), creator Vince Gilligan would most likely want to move on to something else, as the world of Heisenberg and co. have been pretty much a constant part of his life since it began in 2008.

However, Variety are reporting that not only is Gilligan working on a Breaking Bad movie, but he will begin filming the project in mid-November. That’s next week!

There is a lot of stuff we don’t know about it yet… if it will be going to cinemas? Or will it be a direct-to-TV movie? Will Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul be involved? Will it be set before Better Call Saul? Or after the events of Breaking Bad?

Nobody knows. Well, we’re sure Gilligan knows, but we’re also sure he isn’t telling.

All we know for sure, at least according to The Albuquerque Journal, is that the movie is called Greenbriar, and the plot involves “the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom”.

Albuquerque has been home to both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, so it looks like whatever the story is, Gilligan won’t be straying too far from home.

This would be Gilligan’s first time directing a feature – he previously only directed episodes of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and The X-Files – so we’re more than excited to see what he can get up to with more time and more money.
