Breaking Bad’s chicken restaurant could become a real thing

Please let this happen...

Everyone’s favourite fictional fast food chicken chain (a mouthful in itself) could soon become a reality…

Speaking in a Reddit Ask Me Anything session this week, Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan was asked if he had ever thought about opening a real Los Pollos Hermanos – the chicken chain owned by character Gustavo “Gus” Fring, who’s also an uncompromising drug dealer.

Gilligan’s response came as a bit of a surprise to fans: “Believe it or not…there is talk of a Pollos Hermanos becoming a real restaurant.

“This is not an idea that I generated personally. But it’s one that’s been presented to me, through the good folks at Sony, and the idea came to them from a businessman who has an interest in doing just that.”

Vince went on to say: “Speaking for myself, I’d love to see that happen!”

The location for the fictional Los Pollos Hermanos in Breaking Bad is actually a real Mexican fast food restaurant called Twisters, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

There’s no word on whether a Los Pollos Hermanos would be opened on this side of the Atlantic, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed for now…
