Cathal Pendred begins filming new movie in the US with two bona fide action legends

Pendred is keeping pretty esteemed company.

The show business career of former UFC star Cathal Pendred continues to go from strength to strength, as he announced his arrival in Boston on Tuesday to start filming a new movie with two of most badass action stars Hollywood has ever seen.

Pendred, who has featured in US series Ray Donovan and has a role in the upcoming Baywatch movie, posted on Twitter on Tuesday evening to reveal that he had arrived in the USA to begin filming Black Water, which features none other than Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren in the leading roles.

Neither man should really need an introduction, but in case the profile of these two needs emphasising, we’re talking about one of the most intimidating villains in movie history (Ivan Drago in Rocky IV) and the star of Timecop and Universal Solider for crying out loud.

The specific nature of Pendred’s role has yet to be revealed and the plot details on IMDB don’t exactly go into much detail either.

“A deep cover operative awakens to find himself imprisoned in a CIA black site on a submarine,” it says. Juicy.

Due for release at an as yet unconfirmed date in 2018, we’re not sure Black Water will be appearing on the radar of the Academy come Oscar season, but if those two are in it, and Pendred of course, there’s bound to be plenty to keep action junkies entertained.

If it produces magic moments like this, then it’s no doubt something we can all get behind…
