JOE

He’s since been named as one of “This Year’s 10 Directors to Watch” by Variety magazine but, back in November 2013, talented Irishman Paul Duane was busy filming his latest short film, Don’t You Know Who I Am?

Written by poet, journalist and broadcaster Olaf Tyaransen and starring the lead singer of Alabama 3, Larry Love, Don’t You Know Who I Am? follows Rick Rossi (Love) as he arrives in the West of Ireland city of Galway.

don't you know who i am

He’s grieving – trying to recover from the sudden death of his best friend, also the lead singer in his band: the outrageously successful Fragrance Free. He’s been told that Galway people don’t care about celebrity. It turns out that they don’t – but they also really want to make him aware of that fact…

With Irish production company Screenworks behind the film, this really is quite a collection of talent, made even more impressive by the fact that the soundtrack will also feature an exclusive new song from Alabama 3, the brilliant band behind the theme tune for The Sopranos.
