The incredibly tense true-story thriller is out in just a few days.

Does anybody not love Chris Evans?

Between his adoration for dogs and disdain for Trump, he does seem like one of the most immediately likable celebrities out there.

After the huge success of his run as Steve Rogers, and his arc as the character getting a pretty-great-end in Avengers: Endgame, Evans had made it clear that he was maybe giving up the blockbuster career for a bit.

He is already turning that goodie-two-shoes image on its head with upcoming murder-mystery Knives Out, but before then he’ll be playing a real-life hero, in what looks set to be an incredibly tense thriller that is coming straight to Netflix.

Inspired by remarkable true life rescue missions, The Red Sea Diving Resort tells the story of a group of international agents and brave Ethiopians who in the early 80s used a deserted holiday retreat in Sudan as a front to smuggle thousands of refugees to Israel.

The undercover team carrying out this mission is led by the charismatic Ari Levinson (Chris Evans) and courageous local Kabede Bimro (Michael Kenneth Williams).

The hugely impressive cast also includes Haley Bennett, Alessandro Nivola, Michiel Huisman, Chris Chalk, Greg Kinnear and Ben Kingsley, and is written and directed by the guy who made Prisoners Of War (which went on to be remade for US TV as the hit show Homeland).

The Red Sea Diving Resort arrives on Netflix from Wednesday 31 August.
