Christopher Nolan’s next film has a release date

But that’s all we know so far.

Warner Bros has announced that the new film from Christopher Nolan will be released in IMAX on July 17th 2020.

And… that’s it. That’s all we know so far. But movie fans will still be putting that date in their diary.

Christopher Nolan is, of course, the director behind acclaimed movies like Interstellar, Inception and Momento.

He is also the man who revolutionised the Batman franchise, after the critical mauling that Batman and Robin received, with 2005’s Batman Begins. Nolan then went on to follow that up with The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.

His last film was 2017’s World War II epic Dunkirk, starring Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance, and Tom Hardy. It was nominated for eight Academy Awards, winning three.

We have no idea what Nolan’s new film will be about yet – but if we had to guess, we reckon it’ll feature big sccchhhooooming Hans Zimmer noises and a plot that is slightly too clever for its own good.
