Cillian Murphy fancies a good part in The Young Offenders

Paul Moore

Cillian Murphy Young Offenders

Tommy Shelby back on Leeside. This would be fantastic!

Throughout the history of Peaky Blinders, Tommy Shelby has faced some very strange predicaments and shady villains. For example, who can forget his duel with the sinister Major Campbell during the first two seasons? Tom Hardy’s hilarious, untrustworthy and extremely intelligent gangster, Alfie Solomons, also had the Peaky Blinders leader tied up in knots, and as for the most recent season, Luca Changretta’s attack on John Shelby was absolutely brutal.

This being said, Tommy always has a plan and with Season 5 to come, it appears that nobody can get the better of Mr Shelby.

Mmm, this being said, we wonder how Cillian Murphy’s character would deal with Cork’s biggest blaggards, Conor and Jock? Truth be told, the idea of the two lads stealing Murphy’s bike and pegging it through the streets of Cork makes us laugh!

Despite the fact that he’s an extremely busy man, it appears that the star of Dunkirk and 28 Days Later still finds time to watch Leeside’s most beloved langers and in an interview with The Herald, Murphy jokingly teased the idea of a cameo in The Young Offenders.

“It would have to be a good part, mind,” he laughed.”I’ve met those lads and they’re brilliant lads and brilliant actors and I love the series,” he told The Herald.

It appears that the feeling is mutual because when JOE met Alex Murphy (Conor) and Chris Walley (Jock), they had nothing but nice things to say about their fellow Corkonian.

“It’s great because when you’re growing up and wanting to be an actor, Cillian Murphy is just from down the road. To hear he likes the show is just great. We actually met him over the summer while we were filming and he had nothing but nice things to say. He’s an absolute legend, we love him,” said Murphy.

As for a cameo from the star of Sunshine and The Wind that Shakes the Barley, Alex Murphy and Chris Walley are definitely on board. “Well, we’ve got the Peaky Blinders haircuts,” they said. All that’s missing now is an appearance from the actor himself.

A Cillian Murphy cameo in the Young Offenders? We’d be haunted if that happened!
