The Irish actor receives his first nomination alongside Gary Oldman, Daniel Radcliffe.

Cillian Murphy's performance as Thomas Shelby in the final season of Peaky Blinders has earned the Cork man his first TV BAFTA nomination for Leading Actor. Murphy's only previous BAFTA nomination was for the Rising Star prize at the 2007 Film Awards. The 46-year-old is up against the likes of Ben Whishaw for This Is Going To Hurt - which received six nods, the joint most of the year - and Gary Oldman for Slow Horses, who also received his first TV nomination. Martin Freeman (The Responder), Chaske Spencer (The English), and Taron Egerton (Black Bird) are all also up for Leading Actor. Murphy isn't the only Irish nomination this year. Sharon Horgan's Bad Sisters is nominated for Drama Series, with star Anne-Marie Duff getting the nod for Supporting Actress. Siobhán McSweeney is nominated for Female Performance in a Comedy Programme for her role in Derry Girls. The much-loved Channel 4 sitcom also got the nod in the Scripted Comedy category alongside Ghosts, Big Boys and Am I Being Unreasonable?
