WATCH: Jon Stewart’s tribute to Dave Chappelle is absolutely hilarious

Dave Chappelle Jon Stewart

Dave Chappelle was awarded with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humour in October of 2019.

Dave Chappelle is undeniably one of the funniest comedians of all time.

His work has spanned over a period of 25 years, and many still see him as the funniest stand-up comedian in the world.

Although some of the humour in his last few specials has been somewhat divisive, very few can captivate an audience in such a crude yet classy way.

He was rewarded for his efforts in October of 2019 with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humour, and if we’re honest, we’re genuinely confused as to why it took so long.

George Carlin, Bill Murray, Tina Fey and Will Ferrell are among previous winners of the award.

A whole host of comedians paid tribute to Chappelle on the night, and the videos are now being released by the Kennedy Center, where the event took place.

Aziz Ansari was one of them, who told a story that makes Chappelle sound like a tough man to say no to…

Sarah Silverman was also fairly gas too:

But it was Jon Stewart who stole the show with his tribute to his old friend, who he performed in Ireland with back in October of 2018.

You can see how much Chappelle is enjoying listening to Stewart:
