You definitely won’t be short of something to watch on Netflix this weekend

One of the most anticipated releases of the year is coming to Netflix this weekend…

There’s going to plenty of potential viewing on Netflix for you this weekend, as a whole host of new titles hit the streaming platform.

Fingers crossed the weather will encourage us to spend a lot of the weekend outdoors, but we know fine well that the weather in Ireland cannot be relied upon, so it’s always good to have a back up in mind.

El Chapo: Season 1 (16 June)

This gripping drama series explores the life story of one of the world’s most notorious criminals, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, over a span of three decades – from 1985 when he was a low-level member of the Guadalajara Cartel, his rise to power, and his ultimate downfall. El Chapo marks the first co-production between Univision’s Story House Entertainment and Netflix.

Counterpunch  (16 June)

This feature documentary follows three promising amateur boxers as they pursue success in a sport that has experienced a steady decline in popularity.  CounterPunch brings to light the true stories of a number of young boxers determined not only to turn around the fate of the industry, but to also make sure their names end up in the firmament alongside the most remembered and revered champions.

Through discipline, sweat, heartbreak and triumph, the new generations depicted in the documentary reveal just how unrelenting the journey is to get there.

The Ranch: Part 3  (16 June)

The Ranch stars Ashton Kutcher as Colt, a failed semi-pro football player who returns home to run the family ranching business with his older brother Jameson “Rooster” (Danny Masterson) and father Beau (Sam Elliott), whom he hasn’t seen in 15 years. Debra Winger stars as Colt and Rooster’s mother, Maggie, who runs the local town bar.

Don Reo (Two and Half Men, My Wife and Kids) and Jim Patterson (Two and a Half Men, Mike and Molly) executive produce. Kutcher and Masterson also serve as executive producers.
