Some incredibly exciting new shows and movies arriving on the service this month.
If you haven’t already subscribed to Disney+, then now is absolutely the time to do so!
Just look at this line-up of the highlights in March:
West Side Story – 2 March
Currently nominated for seven Academy Awards (we’ll see how many it wins later in March), Steven Spielberg’s fantastic musical arrives on Disney+ a little over two months after it arrived in cinemas.
The Dropout – 3 March
In what looks like a must-watch for fans of Dopesick, this powerful limited series tells the true story of Elizabeth Holmes (Amanda Seyfried), who developed a healthcare technology that made her rich and famous, only to discover that it could be putting millions of patients at risk.
Calvary – 4 March
One of those ‘you either absolutely love it or absolutely hate it’ movies.
Brendan Gleeson and John Michael McDonagh reunited after their crowd-pleasing hit The Guard for this treatise on religion in modern Ireland.
Check out our Calvary-focused interview with the duo right here:
Turning Red – 11 March
Following in the footsteps of Soul and Luca, this is the third Pixar movie to debut directly on Disney+.
A kind of remix of The Incredible Hulk, it tells the story of a 13-year-old girl who turns into a giant red panda whenever she gets too excited.
Nightmare Alley – 16 March
As we said in our review when it arrived in Irish cinemas less than six weeks ago, this is exactly the kind of adult-aimed movie people claim Hollywood doesn’t make anymore.
Guillermo Del Toro’s Oscar-nominated psychological thriller stars Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Ron Perlman, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins and Toni Collette.
Fresh – 18 March
Sebastian Stan (Pam & Tommy) and Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People) headline this “romantic” “comedy” about a woman who has all-but-given-up on modern dating until she runs into the man of her dreams… who happens to be hiding an incredibly dark secret.
Cheaper by the Dozen – 18 March
Gabrielle Union (Bad Boys II) and Zach Braff (Scrubs) front this comedy about two parents with 12 kids.
A remake of the Steve Martin 2003 comedy, which was itself a remake of a 1950 movie.
The Alien Saga – 18 March
Aliens and Prometheus are already on the service, and on this date they’ll be joined by Alien, Alien 3, Alien: Resurrection, Alien vs. Predator, Alien vs. Predator: Requiem and Alien: Covenant, completing the saga.
The Eyes of Tammy Faye – 23 March
Jessica Chastain is up for the Best Actress Oscar for her performance as the infamous televangelist, giving us an intimate look at her extraordinary rise, fall and ultimate redemption.
Moon Knight – 30 March
There was a profound lack of buzz around most of Hawkeye’s run during December, so here is hoping that this Oscar Isaac-led series will get us as excited as WandaVision, Loki, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier did.
