We’re about to get more from some of the most beloved movies ever made.

Great news if you’re a fan of some of the biggest and best Disney movies of all time, but the House Of Mouse have confirmed that not one, not two, but THREE of their most-beloved films are about to get some sequels.

During the 2023 Q1 earnings call, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that they will soon begin production on Toy Story 5, Frozen 3 and Zootopia 2.

To date, the four main Toy Story movies (not including 2022’s Lightyear spin-off) have earned a combined $3 billion at the box office, with both Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4 taking home the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature during their respective years of release.

For the two Frozen movies so far, they’ve cumulatively earned over $2.7 billion at the global office, with the first movie winning Best Animated Feature at the Oscars.

And while Zootopia (or Zootropolis as its known outside of the States) has only had one cinematic release so far, the 2016 movie did make over $1 billion at the box office, won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, and was chosen by the American Film Institute as one of the ten best movies of that year.

Iger gave no further details on these productions, beyond stating that more information would be available soon, and that these would be examples of how Disney “are leaning into our unrivalled brands.”

Outside of these, Disney has a very busy 2023 ahead, including the live-action version of The Little Mermaid (arriving in May), new Pixar movie Elemental (in June), theme park adaptation Haunted Mansion (in August), and animated musical Wish (in November).

Beyond that, Disney have also revealed a live-action adaptation of Snow White, a sequel to Inside Out and a prequel to 2019’s remake of The Lion King are all due to arrive in 2024.
