This is basically what live TV is made for…
Donal Skehan was presenting Saturday Kitchen on BBC One, with Julian Clary and a number of food and wine experts.
The group were prepping the main meal, with Donal working away on the herbs with new super-sharp knives that his co-chef Jun Tanaka was promoting on the show, when this happened:
I hope @DonalSkehan still has a finger after this morning’s @SaturdayKitchen ???? pic.twitter.com/Xe9I7Zi0Ob

Ever the professional, Donal wrapped it up with a tea-towel and continued to present the show, letting Julian take over the herb duty, and they powered through to finishing cooking the meal.
However, Skeehan’s fanbase were concerned for his well-being, what with his fingers and hands being pretty much integral to his livelihood, but despite assertions from Donal himself that he was all well and good, the well-wishes were sent out en masse.

#SaturdayKitchen @DonalSkehan oh dear, hope your cut isn’t too bad but the smooth way you casually ignored it made me laugh ?

Donal can take solace in the fact that he wasn’t the only one to make a boo-boo on the show that morning though, as one of the camera-men lost his way while crossing the set, which (again) wasn’t lost on the viewers.
