Dublin will have a Game of Thrones convention where you can meet the actual Direwolves from the show

Thrones Dublin

Heaven for any Irish Game of Thrones fan.

Given the fact that Game of Thrones is filmed on these shores, it’s not too uncommon to hear stories about people that have managed to bump into some of the cast and crew – particularly if you happen to live in Belfast or Down.

Hell, Jason Momoa practically lives in the Guinness Storehouse and if you ever fancy meeting Emilia Clarke, she told our own Eoghan Doherty where she goes to grab the best pint of Guinness in Ireland.

FYI, it’s The Spaniard on Skipper St in Belfast and here’s the proof.

On this note, given the fact that this writer is a massive Game of Thrones geek, one of the coolest things that I’ve ever got to experience was meeting the actual Direwolves that featured in the show and getting to talk to their incredibly nice owners and trainers, the Mulhall family.

Odin and Thor (the two dogs) have become a global phenomenon as a result of their roles in Game of Thrones – they play the Direwolves Summer and Greywind – and while thousands of fans flock to meet the dogs, the stories that their incredibly sound owners have about life on the set, both in front of the camera and behind it, are absolutely fascinating.

This being said, everyone wants their picture taken with the Direwolves and an upcoming convention in Dublin will give GoT fans the chance to get the perfect snap.

Throne Legends will take place at the Citywest Convention Centre on September 8th and there’s plenty for fans to enjoy.

An official replica of the Iron Throne will be there and fans can also embrace their inner Jon Snow by participating in Knight Training.

Hell, you don’t even need to ‘take the black’ to learn how to become an expert sword fighter!

Aside from this, there’s also going to be official props from the show, a six foot tall life-size replica of a dragon skull and a chance to meet some of your favourite characters in cosplay.

With regards to the tickets, there are various different categories available and more information can be found here.

Winter is here.
