Ed Sheeran has revealed details of his Game of Thrones appearance

He doesn’t die, apparently…

What was your reaction when you heard that Ed Sheeran would be appearing in a cameo role in Game of Thrones?

Our office was split down the middle of: “We hope he dies a horrible and gruesome death,” and the other side was a neutral reaction of those who could not care less.

In an interview Sheeran told The Daily Star: “I do know which role I’m going to play,” before adding: “I don’t die in it. I don’t die.”

“I’d probably prefer to have sex than die in the show,” Sheeran added. “I’m sure a lot of people are into [having sex and dying] but I’m not.”

He did reveal that he shot a scene with Maisie Williams but he was only in it for five minutes… and just to reiterate, he doesn’t die.

It’s long been an ambition for the Thinking Out Loud star to appear in the show, ever since his pal Gary Lightbody appeared in the show back in 2012.

“My friend guested in it in 2012,” Sheeran said. “And I remember I was on tour with him and he was like: ‘Right, I’ve got a guest slot on Game Of Thrones.’ I remember saying: ‘You got to get me on it at some point.’

“It’s been five years so it’s finally come true.”
