First Dates Ireland returned to our screens on Thursday night, and while we were all very excited to check out the double-date that under normal circumstances might have accounted for the most awkward thing we could ever imagine, we were quickly put in our place by this one.
We meet Aidan from Tralee and Siobhan from Youghal as they meet each other for the first time, and from the date it is clear to Aidan that Siobhan has absolutely no interest in him.
Her practically physical reaction to when he uses the word 'bird' to describe her, on top of the fact that he tells the waiter that it must take her three hours to get ready for each date... yeah, we would have probably guessed that it wasn't going well, too.
Then comes the bit where they're asked if they would ever meet each other again, and things go from "Yikes, this is awkward" to "I'm jumping out the window to escape this coffin of awkwardness!"

So... listen, love didn't find them this time.
But we can safely say they've probably both learned some lessons from this first date.
Aidan learned that ladies may be into him without having to throw themselves on to him.
And Siobhan learned that she probably shouldn't date Aidan.
