We believe in a thing called love!
In a night that also contained a date that featured both (1) The lad getting a call from his mammy in the middle of the date, AND (2) that same lad fibbing about working as a gym instructor, only to find out that his date goes to that same gym, everyone’s heart was still stolen by Pat and Maureen.
71-year-old retired crane-operator Pat and 68-year-old former Jacob’s worker Maureen are both self-described ‘true blue Dubs’, hit it off immediately, when attempting to come up with a proper description of the giant container that you’d get a decent G&T in, before settling on “Goblet”.
Yep, a goblet of G&T sounds right to us.
Then it was on to the date, and the postmortem interview to ask how they both thought it went, and if they would be happy to go on Date No.2.

So did the people at home feel their hearts swell up with love and all of the feels and then spill those feels all over Twitter?
You betcha.

However, despite their lovely date, it was revealed that Pat and Maureen haven’t actually met again since the date:

And, as a lovely parting gift, the RTE2 Twitter account posted some extra unseen footage of the new couple, and unsurprisingly, it is absolutely adorable:
