The first plot details of Christopher Nolan’s top-secret new movie may have been revealed

Christopher Nolan

This synopsis has got us very excited.

Five-time Oscar-nominee Christopher Nolan is one of the few directors around that when he announces a new movie, everyone sits up and takes notice.

From all the way back with Memento and The Prestige, to his Dark Knight trilogy, to the likes of Interstellar and Dunkirk, everything he does wins over the critics, and also usually makes some serious bank.

Moreover, he knows how to keep audiences interested, because he loves to keep us in the dark for as long as possible.

If you head over to his IMDb page, you’ll see that he has an Untitled Christopher Nolan Project due for release on 17 July 2020, and that it will be shot on IMAX.

Aside from that, absolutely nothing.

No plot, no cast, nothing.

However, this week movie and TV insider publication Production Weekly tweeted about the first details of the still-unnamed movie:

“DoP Hoyte van Hoytema is planning to re-team with Christopher Nolan on his upcoming production scheduled to begin filming this June. The Warner Bros. feature is described as a romantic thriller, NORTH BY NORTHWEST in tone meets INCEPTION…”

His own epic sci-fi action movie, mixed with Hitchcock’s iconic chase-thriller? We. Are. IN!

Hoytema was director of photography from both Interstellar and Dunkirk, and he is the first crew member announced for the project, outside of Nolan himself, who is also apparently writing the script.

The only other thing we know for certain is that the movie is set to open on the same day as a Bob’s Burgers movie (we didn’t even know that was happening), and a currently untitled Paramount animated movie.

We imagine both of these will probably change their release dates before long…
