Irish cinemas will be showing a live performance of Fleabag with the show’s star

Rory Cashin

fleabag

A must-watch for fans of the show.

It feels like only yesterday that we were watching Fleabag lusting over a “hot priest”, and then we were told that the show’s second season was also going to its last.

No. NO. IT WAS TOO SOON!

The first season alone nabbed writer, creator, and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge the British Academy Television Award for Best Female Comedy Performance, while the second season has been nominated for ELEVEN Emmys ahead of the ceremony this September.

Always best to leave them wanting more, especially for Waller-Bridge, who is still busy writing new seasons of Killing Eve (season three will apparently feature Waller-Bridge playing herself… meta-alert!), as well as working on the script for Bond 25.

So, yeah, she is very much in demand right now.

However, she isn’t too busy to put together a live performance of the one-woman play that the show itself was based on, and while she performs as part of the National Theatre Live series in London, it will be broadcast on to the big screen all across Ireland.

Kicking off at 7.30pm on Thursday 12 September, the full list of Omniplex Cinemas showing the event in the ROI can be found here, and in NI can be found here.

Some of the venues have already sold out, so you’d best act fast!
