This is going to be HUGE.

Frozen held on to the title of the biggest animated movie of all time… for a little under two years, but it has since been replaced by another Disney epic, The Lion King, which has currently banked over $1.6 billion worldwide.

However, we can probably bet on Frozen II to attempt to retake that crown, and this latest trailer gives a bit more insight into what the movie is actually going to be about.

The official plot synopsis is still pretty vague:

“Why was Elsa born with magical powers? What truths about the past await Elsa as she ventures into the unknown to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond Arendelle? The answers are calling her but also threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), Olaf (Josh Gad) and Sven (the reindeer), she’ll face a dangerous but remarkable journey. In Frozen, Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In Frozen 2, she must hope they are enough.”

But from the trailer, we can see that Elsa is being called to another magical land, and that call is putting Elsa’s home kingdom into mortal peril.

So she must head off, along with her sister, their BFF snowman, and the nice guy who hangs around, to get to the bottom of it.

Still no sign of any actual songs though, and we imagine the pressure is on to have something on par with the Oscar-winning ‘Let It Go’, sung by the incomparable Adele Dazeem Idina Menzel.

Frozen II is released in Irish cinemas on Friday 22 November.
