Good news for Game of Thrones fans who like a bit of Doctor Who on the side.

Everyone’s favourite feisty Stark is heading to a new fictional universe, not as Stark mind you, as Maisie Williams is set to star in the upcoming 9th series of Doctor Who, which stars Peter Capaldi as the main man in the tweed jacket.

In a press release from BBC America, Williams said: “I’m so excited to be working on ‘Doctor Who’ as it’s such a big and important part of British Culture.

“I can’t wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we’ll be shooting not too far from my home town.”

Williams’ role in Doctor Who remains a closely guarded secret, but according to lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat, Williams will challenge the doctor and “give him exactly the right sort of hell”.

We can’t wait see what exactly that means, but unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until autumn to find out.
