At least they can laugh about it.
Game of Thrones showrunners have responded to eagle-eyed viewers that called out a glaring continuity error in the latest episode, ‘The Last of the Starks’.
What looks a lot like a Starbucks, but is definitely some kind of coffee, cup appears in one scene and unless we’ve missed the lore/Reddit fan theories, there has been no mention of a drive-thru or petrol station self-serve machine to this point in the show.
Not surprisingly, it was spotted by quite a few people.
So this is where we're at now! A Starbucks cup! #GameofThrones pic.twitter.com/dhWXyDo15w

The show’s official Twitter account appeared to confirm the coffee cup did indeed appear “by mistake,” tweeting:
News from Winterfell.
The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. #Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea. pic.twitter.com/ypowxGgQRl

Capitalising on all the free advertising, Starbucks also had their say on the matter.

Executive producer on the show, Bernie Caulfield, told WNYC: “We’re sorry!” and joked “Westeros was the first place to actually, you know, have Starbucks.”
“If that’s the worst thing they’re finding, then we’re in good shape.”
Caulfield also said he expected HBO to edit out the cup soon. Drink it in while you still can.
