Game of Thrones Season 8 Date

The Game of Thrones Season 8 date has been announced.

“I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men.”

Well, it appears the realms of men are absolutely f**ked because The Long Night is here and the dead come with it.

As we saw in that epic finale to Season 7, the Night King has breached The Wall with the aid of his newly acquired dragon, Viserion, and things in Westeros have taken a chilly turn because the White Walkers have started to march south.

The north remembers, but will it stand?

Game of Thrones Season 8 date

Get set for the biggest battle in the history of TV and film in Season 8 because Jon and Daenerys (the loved-up aunt and nephew, still weird) are set to defend the Seven Kingdoms against the army of the dead.

Of course, Cersei has already reneged on her promise to pledge the forces of House Lannister to their cause and we’ve a strong feeling that this treachery won’t be well received by the Mother of Dragons and Lord Snow.

Aside from this, Jaime is now travelling North, there’s the issue of Sansa and how she’ll feel about Jon bending the knee to a Targaryen, Theon’s attempt to save his sister from the clutches of Euron, Arya’s death list, the potential of Cleganebowl, and the inevitable moment when Daenerys discovers Jon’s true lineage to enjoy over the next six episodes.

All this without an answer to the burning question: Who will win the game of thrones?

Oh yeah, they’re all set to be feature-length episodes too.

Get hyped because a song of ice and fire has never sounded sweeter.

Save the date. Game of Thrones Season 8 arrives on 14 April in the US and it will be shown on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, we fully expect Sky Atlantic to simulcast the episode at the exact same time that it’s shown in the US.

As always, a repeat showing will air the day after.

Winter is here.
