Game of Thrones has hid six Iron Thrones around the world for a scavenger hunt

Reuben Pinder

When you play the Game of Thrones, you live, or you die…

*disclaimer: you will not die if you don’t win this game. Good quote though, isn’t it?

There are just over two weeks remaining before Game of Thrones returns to our screens for its final season and yes, we’re all very excited about it. We presume you are too, since you’re reading this article.

If you’re the sort of Game of Thrones fan who imagines themselves sitting on the iron throne having just slaughtered Cersei Lannister, HBO are giving you the chance to live out your fantasy, minus the slaughtering.

They have launched a scavenger hunt, hiding six different replicas of the iconic iron throne in picturesque settings around the world for you to search for.

Thus far, we can tell you that the throne in the UK is located in Puzzlewood Forest in Gloucestershire. One has also been hidden in Sweden, in a place called Björkliden – known as the Throne in the North, while another has been spotted in Castello de Atienza, just north of Madrid, Spain. A fourth throne is believed to be in Beberibe, Brazil. That leaves two still yet to be found.

On the official Game of Thrones YouTube channel, you can see several videos that reveal the setting of each throne. There are three videos per throne: Dawn, Day and Dusk. Obviously, the videos don’t tell you exactly where to look, but they are the clues that you’ve got to work with.

Here are some examples.

If you’ve got the time and the dedication to try to find one of the final two thrones, go nuts. If not, sit tight and wait until April 14 (technically April 15 in Ireland) for the eighth and final season of this magnificent programme.
