Ghostbusters 3 is being written with the remaining original cast members planned to star

Ghostbusters 3

Who you gonna call?

Don’t cross the streams! Don’t cross the timelines!

The original Ghostbusters is a bonafide classic but it’s fair to say that Paul Feig’s reboot didn’t match the quality of  Ivan Reitman’s original. This being said, very few films can.

Next year will mark 30 years since we last saw Venkman, Egon, Spengler, and Winston march through the streets of New York on top of the Statue of Liberty as they battled Vigo the Carpathian but the remaining Ghostbusters from the original films might be throwing on their proton packs for a final time.

In a recent episode of AXS TV’s The Big Interview with Dan Rather, Dan Aykroyd teased fans with the news that a new Ghostbusters is “being written right now.”

He mentions there is a “possibility of a reunion with the three remaining Ghostbusters”, which would include himself, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson. When asked about Bill Murray specifically, he adds, “I think Billy will come. The story’s so good. Even if he plays a ghost.”

Of course,  it’s not Ghostbusters without Harold Ramis because he was one of the co-writers and an integral part of the team.

This being said, Slimer has previously been described as “The Ghost of John Belushi” in so many interviews, so if there’s any creative team that can pay tribute to a dear friend while creating a perfect piece of pop-culture, it’s the Ghostbusters.

Truth be told, we’d give anything to hear this blaring out of the windows of Ecto-1 again.
