They're not shutting it down after all.
Netflix have no plans to stop Irish people from accessing the American version of its library, and is even planning to close the gap between US movie ability and its worldwide library.
"We're looking to have a global catalogue that's the same everywhere," said Neil Hunt, Chief Product Officer at Netflix. "If people feel they're missing out in one country, hopefully this is a temporary state of affairs."
The streaming service is also planning to introduce Netflix on planes, trains and in hotel rooms.
"We're in discussions but there's nothing officially on the roadmap," he said. "But planes, trains and hotels would all make sense."
As for those rumours before Christmas that Netflix would prevent Irish users from accessing the US library by changing VPNs, well, that's not happening.
"Lots of people do it, but we haven't changed. We don't know of any technology that would actually solve the problem."
