We’re pumped.

A potential live action Star Wars TV series has been in the works for a long, long time. There have been various animated shows, including Ewoks and Droids in the ’80s, and The Clone Wars and Rebels more recently.

On this note, the idea of a live action show was first mooted in 2010, but Disney’s acquisition of LucasFilm in 2013 put any previous plans on hold. Finally, in 2017, it was announced that a show would be developed for Disney’s upcoming streaming service and in March, it was confirmed that Iron Man, Elf and The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau would write and executive produce it.

All other details were strictly confidential but we now have a title, and a synopsis.

The show will be called The Mandalorian, and the full plot description reads: “After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic….”

Bring. It. On!
