Yep, Ryan Gosling and Robin Wright will be joining Harrison Ford in Blade Runner 2049, directed by Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Arrival, Prisoners) when it is released in Irish cinemas on 6 October, and to say that we here in JOE are excited to see it is a bit of an understatement.

Lets just have another quick look at the trailer, shall we?

Awesome.

Anyways, it is obviously the sequel to the 1982 Ridley Scott-directed original, also starring Harrison Ford, and pretty much one of – if not THE – most influential science fiction movies ever made.

For those who have never seen it, or maybe those who haven’t had the pleasure of catching it on the big screen, or even those who have and maybe just want to see it again, you’re in luck.

A number of cinemas around the country are showing Blade Runner: The Final Cut in the week leading up the the sequel’s release.

The following cinemas have confirmed screenings taking place on Thursday 28 September:

  • Cineworld Dublin – 19.30
  • Lighthouse Dublin – 20.30
  • Omniplex Rathmines Dublin – 20.00
  • Omniplex Arklow – 20.00
  • Omniplex Dundalk – 20.00

Other cinemas may also be showing the movie, but have yet to publish the dates and/or times, so check your local listings for confirmation.
