In conversation this Friday…

It’s time that of the week yet again when RTÉ reveals who you can expect to see if you switch on the Late Late this Friday.

One person who will be joining host Ryan Tubridy for the chats is famous Irish comedian and TV presenter Dara Ó Briain.

Promoting his current comedy tour titled So…Where Were We?, he will discuss his joy of being back on stage after the pandemic.

Also appearing on the programme will be much-loved sports commentator Marty Morrissey ahead of the 2022 GAA Championships getting underway later in the month.

He will speak about why this year is a major experiment for the GAA and will also be thanking Ireland’s clubs and counties for their overwhelming support following the recent passing of his mother Peggy.

Though overshadowed by Will Smith slapping Chris Rock, coming-of-age comedy-drama CODA took home the Best Picture prize at this year’s Oscars.

Its title is short for “child of deaf adult” and centres on the only hearing member of a deaf family.

Following the film’s success, Ryan will chat to three Irish CODAs – Amanda Coogan, Declan Buckley and Shane O’Reilly – about the very positive impact growing up the children of deaf adults has had on their lives.

The host will also speak to one of the film’s cast – the Irish actor Ferdia Walsh-Peelo.

Having made his movie debut as the lead in Irish musical Sing Street, Walsh-Peelo will also be performing live on the show with his new band The Fynches.

This week’s episode of The Late Late Show airs on RTÉ One on Friday (8 April) at 9.35pm.
