We’ve got a release date too. Can’t wait for this.

It’s hard to make sense of the world right now. Politics has descended into one big shouting match, civil discussion has turned toxic, every single issue seems like a hill that people are willing to die on and fake news is rampant.

In these trying times, we need somebody that cuts to the truth. A man driven by the truth. An interviewer prepared to ask the tough questions and unwavering in his professionalism, integrity, and honour.

Quite simply, we need a man that once asked Barack Obama: “What does it feel like to be the last black President?”

Fitting then that Zach Galifianakis will turn his interview series Between Two Ferns into a movie premiering on Netflix on 20 September.

In case you’ve never seen the Funny or Die series, the whole show revolves around Galifianakis being highly unprepared, unprofessional and simply not giving a shit about any of the guests he has on the show.

And he has had some stellar guests; Charlize Theron, Bradley Cooper, Conan O’Brien, Hillary Clinton, Will Ferrell, and Brad Pitt have all featured in the mock interviews.

Truth be told, the fact that Natalie Portman managed to keep a straight face after the host asked her “you shaved your head for V for Vendetta. Did you also shave your V for vagina?” is more deserving of an Oscar than her work in Black Swan, a film that she actually won an Oscar for.

According to Rolling Stone, the Between Two Ferns movie will feature a fittingly meta and ridiculous plot.

After Will Ferrell discovered Galifianakis’ public access TV show, Between Two Ferns, uploaded it to Funny Or Die and turned the host into a laughing stock, Galifianakis decides to take Between Two Ferns on the road to conduct a series of high-profile celebrity interviews in order to rehab his reputation.

Deadline, meanwhile, have reported that Peter Dinklage, Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, Keanu Reeves and David Letterman were attached as interviewees.

Scott Aukerman, the host of Comedy Bang Bang and the co-creator of Between Two Ferns, directed the movie and co-wrote it with Galifianakis.

The film will be released on 20 September on Netflix.

We can’t wait!
