We don’t know who any of these characters are… but we cannot wait to meet them.
JOE recently brought you the trailer for a trailer for Disney and Marvel’s latest venture, Guardians Of The Galaxy, and now the first full trailer has arrived.
The characters in this latest addition to the Marvel universe are most certainly nowhere near as popular as heroes such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the Incredible Hulk but, after seeing this absolutely excellently-executed first footage, that is a factor that could actually work in the film’s favour.
What we’ve got on our hands here folks is a completely unknown entity… and we’re excited. Very excited.
The intriguing introductory clip is a perfect blend of awesome action, brilliantly-placed music (Blue Swede’s ‘Hooked On a Feeling’) and, in keeping with the Marvel tone, some top-quality comedy – especially from the very funny star of the show, Chris Pratt (Parks And Rec), who plays our hero, Star-Lord.
Star who?
Pratt’s Star-Lord/Peter Quill teams up with rag-tag group of aliens, Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Groot (Vin Diesel) and Rocket (Bradley Cooper), to form the superhero team known as the Guardians Of The Galaxy. And, for bonus points, keep an eye out for the always excellent John C. Reilly and Peter Serafinowicz as two super snarky Nova Corps officers.
Enough of JOE’s giddy excitement though, just watch the flippin’ thing. Repeatedly.
Guardians Of The Galaxy is due for release in Irish cinemas on 1 August 2014.
