An Irish brewery has made a new beer for Derry Girls fans – and they need your help

“Slainte muthaf*ckas!”

Channel 4’s newest comedy Derry Girls has exploded with popularity in recent weeks and with this week’s episode being called “the funniest yet”, the praise doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon.

However, who knew that the Northern Irish sitcom would inspire the new name of a tipple?

Walled City Brewery of County Derry took to Facebook early on Friday morning to talk about a few things; namely how class last night’s episode had been and how they want to name their latest ale after it.

The two most prominent quotes of Thursday night’s episode are in the running; Punt Purse and Second Best Tent.

The post says:

“***DERRY GIRLS BEER***

So last night’s episode was pure class??…and we’ve a fantastic Magnum Red Ale bursting to get out of the keg….but we need your help in naming it…

So vote below and we’ll be tapping it up tonight and all weekend!!??”

At time of writing, Punt Purse is winning by a long shot – but as the poll runs until Saturday midday, Second Best Tent still has a chance to nab the top spot.

Check out Walled City Brewery’s Facebook page to cast your all deciding vote. It’s all to play for…
