Irish cinemas will be hosting dog-friendly screenings of a Pixar classic and you can bring your pooch along

Paul Moore

Absolutely perfect film too. Fancy a trip to the cinema with your dog?

In recent months, we’re seeing an increase in the amount of dog friendly events around Ireland and we’re fully behind each and every one. Christ, what day can’t be improved by having a bunch of doggies?

Like this cafe in Cork that caters for dogs and these cinema screenings in Dublin where you could take your furry friends along, we’re more than happy to be the watchdog and bark from the rooftops about any event that brings woman, man and madra together.

On this note, there’s no better film to watch with your dog than the Pixar’s classic Up. SQUIRREL!

As we saw in that film, Doug the dog is one of the most loyal companions around – when he’s not distracted by squirrels – and he’s also skilled at making an impression.

“My master made me this collar. He is a good and smart master and he made me this collar so that I may speak. Squirrel!” said Doug and who are we to argue against him.

Well, if you’re a fan of Up and dogs, the Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin and the Pálás in Galway will be hosting dog friendly screenings of Up on August 12.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 1pm.

Don’t be distract…SQUIRREL!
