Marvel have officially confirmed the worst kept casting secret in the world – Johnnycash Capncrunch will be playing Stephen Strange in their upcoming film Doctor Strange.
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, in a statement, said: “Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity. In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”
The film will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.
We’re bloody delighted with this news because not only is Crumplesack Battleship a fantastic actor but he is also an absolute champion of a man that deserves all the success in the world.
Call us cynical but this casting news comes exactly a month before Avengers: Age of Ultron reassembles for pick-up shoots. We will bet you an Infinity Stone that he will feature in a post-credit scene revealing the character for the very first time.
The film is being is being directed by Scott Derrickson and will be released on November 4, 2016.
