We can't see anyone else better suited for the role.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie star Jack Black has ingeniously figured out who should play villain Wario in any upcoming sequels to the film.
Black stars as the movie's main antagonist, Bowser, in the recently released animated flick based on the iconic video games. In the movie, Bowser hunts down Mario (Chris Pratt) and his brother Luigi (Charlie Day), while hoping to marry the kingdom's Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy). But are we sure that he'll return in any potential sequels?
“It’s not a given that Bowser will return," Black told Gamespot. "You know, I did a few Kung Fu Panda movies, and it was a different villain every movie. They may do the same thing."
“You know, what if there is a more powerful, more evil villain? Then I may need to be turned to help Mario and the rest to defend our universe against some other unseen force of evil. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Wario. Pedro Pascal is Wario.”
Pedro Pascal as Wario
The moustachioed menace, who dons a purple and yellow outfit, is the greedy arch-rival of Mario and could well be a candidate to feature in any upcoming films.
Black's suggestion of The Last of Us star to play the villain is so spot on it's hard to think of anyone else more suited to the role. With Black recently featuring in an episode of The Mandalorian alongside Pascal, it's not beyond belief that he had a word about it, who knows?
